In Sumer: The First Civilization, students will practice ELA skills such as identifying cause and effect and drawing inferences while learning about ancient Sumer. Students are introduced to content-specific vocabulary such as “arable and ” irrigation,” and learn how controlling the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates helped Sumerian civilization to develop.
